Microblading is now a popular beauty procedure designed to add shape and fullness to your brows. This approach works by creating tiny hair strokes, resulting in natural-looking eyebrows. Actually, microblading aftercare is a vital aspect of the success of the procedure and its prolonged effects, so you should follow some instructions of your microblading artist. A specific schedule often involves brow cleaning, protecting them from harmful conditions, and treating the skin. Today, we’ll introduce you to day-by-day aftercare for microblading.
Microblading aftercare day by day: what to know?
You should be aware of primary unadvisable practices to do 14 days post microblading therapy. It would be best to avoid excess sweating, swimming, sports activity, hot bath and sauna, tanning (either sun or salon), exposure to UV rays, skincare products containing Retin-A and glycolic acid, laser, chemical peelings or treatments, peeling or scratching the treated area, drinking excess alcohol (might lead to slower wound healing), touching the treated area, and more.
First things first – microblading aftercare instructions should be followed from 7 to 14 days following a session, even though the overall microblading healing process takes up to 4-6 weeks. Furthermore, the exact length of recovery post microblading dramatically depends on a person’s body regeneration and age. Remember to stay extremely careful in the beginning phases of the recovery process, mainly when the scabbing occurs. Here are some primary rules on how to care for microblading:
1. Day 1
On the first day after a microblading procedure, your brows might look too dark and highly sensitive (redness is also common). The lymph will be secreted from them, so you need to moisten a cotton pad with a few drops of sterile water to wash it. Remember to repeat this practice 2-3 times a day. By the way, it is important to keep eyebrows dry for the next two weeks following a microblading session.
2. Days 2-4
Continue regularly washing your eyebrows with antibacterial soap or sterile water to prevent excess lymph build-up. Don’t forget to clean your hands carefully before manipulating your brows. At this stage, the microblading artists recommend applying a fine layer of an ointment or healing balm. Eyebrows tend to feel itchy and thigh.
3. Days 5-10
Scabbing is likely to appear on the fifth day of the microblading recovery process. In this stage, the main aftercare rule is to avoid touching the scabs – let the scabbing fade naturally to prevent microblading damage. In the next few days, go on with all the advisable practices to care for microblading – washing, applying ointment, etc. If you experience severe irritation or scabbing, it would be best to contact your microblading artist for further actions.
4. Days 10-14
If the brow peeling stops at this phase, you can give up using the ointment. You can go back to the previous brow routine two weeks following a procedure. Applying makeup and washing your face, as usual, is no longer ineligible.
